MEET APRIL

20 years of experience in the Hair Industry, Owner and Master Stylist of Worthy Culture.

My Mission

I don't know about you, but, I did not have the resources growing up to visit the Salon. My friends would go and come back with their hair cut, blow dried and styled, and I would admire their demeanor afterward. It was mesmerizing, they were like a new person! It was so beautiful! From a young age I understood the power that a beautiful hairstyle had on people. As a mother, and a wife, I understand the challenges of struggling families. I believe God has given me a talent to be used to help people find their confidence and strength again. I aim to have a very affordable family salon, standing against vanity and a proposed beauty standard, allowing everyone to fit the mould! You are beautiful. All people are beautiful. I love to help my clients/friends see that our innate beauty inside deserves to shine through to the outside. This is Worthy Culture.

A Bit About Me...

Hair has been my passion since I had a Barbie. I love the sounds, the smell and the atmosphere of the Hair Salon! I also love to talk, especially when it helps me get to know you! I began my career more seriously in a small town up-North, where I did my high school co-op for a trendy salon in-town, and that's where it began for me.

I love cooking and eating and all things food! Have you ever tasted something and needed to try it again? I love to recreate foods that I love.

Learning is another thing I enjoy, all kinds of learning, what makes us more confident than knowing what someone else is talking about? I love to learn so that I can enjoy every conversation to the fullest.

God is my life, he is the light in me. My craft is an honour that he has given me and I work in gratitude for that.

FAQS

How often should I get my hair trimmed?

The frequency of hair trims depends on your hair type, texture, and desired style. On average, a trim every 6 to 8 weeks helps maintain healthy ends and prevents split ends from spreading. However, our experienced stylists will assess your hair's condition during your appointment and recommend a schedule tailored to your needs.

What's the difference between highlights and balayage?

Highlights involve lightening specific sections of your hair uniformly, resulting in a consistent pattern of lighter strands. On the other hand, balayage is a technique where color is hand-painted onto the hair, creating a more natural, sun-kissed effect with softer regrowth lines. Balayage offers a low-maintenance look, while highlights can be more defined. Our color experts can guide you in choosing the best option based on your desired outcome and maintenance preferences.

How can I maintain the vibrancy of my hair color?

To preserve the brilliance of your hair color, use sulfate-free and color-safe shampoos and conditioners. Wash your hair with lukewarm water to prevent color fading. Limit exposure to sunlight and chlorinated water, as these can cause color to fade. Deep conditioning treatments and leave-in color protectants can also help maintain color vibrancy between salon visits. Our stylists can recommend specific products and care routines tailored to your hair color and type.
